03 nissan exterra 3.3 room lamp no power. was created by gilbert
God bless you my brothers and sisters.
I got this 03 Exterra with no room lamp I checked for power on the red/grn wire at the bulb and nothing. So I check the fuses and they are good checked continuity from fuse 26 to red/grn wire on bulb connector and there is continuity but no power. Can anybody tell me why there is continuity but no power thank you.

Continuity is only testing for an open and nothing more. It’s not a load test. You could have 1 single strand of copper holding the wire together but it can’t carry a load. So if your sure there isn’t a short to ground on that wire I’d apply power to one end of the wire and use a headlight bulb to check for power or a test light just not an led one

Hey Cheryl thak you for the info. that is right 1 strand won't carry a load. Ok let me tell you what I did I jumped a fused wire to the plug and it worked. Does this mean that there is a brake in the wire? Should I follow the wire from end to end or is there a better way?
Thank you.
Thank you.

The wire diagram shows that it is a straight shot from the fuse the only other wire that it powers is the map light. When I put power straight from the fuse both lights turned on.
