If it's a 4L60, there's no reflashing required. It is, however, a great idea to clear all transmission adaptives after the replacement.

I gotta ask - are you positive it's a 4L60? Because I rarely see TC issues with that transmission. The 6L80, on the other hand, has shudder problems all the time.

I am fairly certain it is a 4 L 60 e 100% no I believe the stator is going out of it or the bearings it started as a tapping noise similar to that of a flasher then I shut the Flasher off and I can still hear it put it up on a rack and I can definitely hear the tapping coming out of the converter area checked all the bolts in a flexplate everything appears to be tight and snug the noise went away for a little bit and now it is back along with a whining coming out of there so I'm assuming it is a bearing going to crap was going to pull it next weekend and put a new converter in it and pull the pan and check and see if I have any metal in them bottom if not I will just replace a converter and put it back in providing it hasn't ate the splines off of it it shifts properly and transmission really doesn't have any issues in it other than it has never had tow mode this issue started after I left it in manual going down a hill with no load on it just holding the truck back at about 2000 RPMs and that was it and it was in fourth after that I noticed I had a ticking noise coming from the converter area any other suggestions would definitely help and I'm going to put my verus on it and see if I have any codes in the modules but as for now the only code I have is a rich code

I've seen cracked flywheels make a ticking sound from the converter area on some full-size GMs

This. I've seen more than one cracked flexplate on these trucks. Makes the same kind of noise you're describing. AND it might explain why the noise went away briefly when you checked the torque on the converter bolts.
