Alright guys, this is my own personal vehicle so I have all the time in the world to figure it out. What I have is an 09 Jeep wrangler 3.8. The jeep does NOT have any key fobs, remote entry, pwr door locks etc. The jeep never fails to star and never shuts off due to this issue. Another note to make is that the spare is the only remaining tire that has a pressure sensor. All others are aftermarket wheels and tires without sensors. With all that said, what happens on a "normal" drive cycle is I start the jeep, red security light is on briefly then goes out, the tpms light blinks for awhile then stays on solid. I consider this all normal with no tire sensors. Now what has been happening more and more now, is while driving , the red security light will sometimes flicker, sometimes stay on for a few seconds, sometimes flicker then stay on (completely at random) and then , when the security light goes off long enough, the tpms will display "low tire psi) and beep several times. IF the red light stays off, the tpms light will eventually stay on solid. However, if the security light comes back on or just flickers, the process and the beeping begins all over. It will do this several times in a short drive. Like I said earlier, this light never effects drivability. Always starts and runs fine and never shuts off.
All I have currently checked for is good power and ground at the wireless control module in the steering column which was good. Sadly, I only have one key for the jeep. I would like to know if its a key issue for sure before having the dealer cut me a new one. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know I'm all ears. I've been watching SD for awhile and have learned quite a bit, but this is over my head. I have tried attaching a wiring diagram. I don't know if it will load or not.

Sorry I left that bit of info out....I did scan for codes with my cheap scanner here at home and it shows nothing. I do need to scan it with a full featured scanner again. I'm PRETTY sure I did several months ago and found nothing but I will update this if I do find codes. I will drive it to work tomorrow and use my solus.

Kind of sounds like some sort of low battery warning for the TPMS. Since you still have one in the spare it could have a low battery perhaps? You might look through your owners manual or service manual to see if there is any description of what different scenarios will illuminate the security and TPMS lights.
BTW, I don't think there is any reason that you want install the TPMS transmitters in aftermarket wheels.

Something I noticed yesterday when looking over some stuff....I do not have to be driving it for this to occur. If I just turn the key on to the run position and wait, it will do it. sometimes within a min, sometimes several mins..Don't know if that would have any relevance. On my way to work here in a little bit. Will post the scan results afterwards.

Ok I got all the modules scanned and all that came up was a code for missing tire pressure sensors. If my memory serves me right, it was a C131C code.

Well, it's that time of year again! Jeep acted up again today with this stupid light blinking and tpms light chiming. I have removed the only remaining tpms sensor from the spare, and also installed a new battery. Only reason for battery replacement is because it failed and would not hold a charge. It has to be temp related as it did not do this all summer long. I guess that would mean things contract in the cold and have intermittent loss of connection? I cant believe nobody else found a fix for this yet. It seems pretty common when doing a google search. Guess I'll study the wiring diagram again and see if theres something I can monitor while driving...try to fimd out why the security light comes on. Its the root of the issue i believe...

Really just a guess, but I've read that Honda will throw on a a bunch of unrelated lights to get the driver to actually bring the car in to be fixed.
The Check Engine light isn't scary enough, so it will give you other lights on the dash to get your attention.
I could see Chrysler using this tactic as well. Did the security light thing start when you eliminated the pressure sensors?
