Hi Guys,
I've just purchased a 2003 petrol 'V6' Jeep Cherokee ( in Australia), called a Liberty ( in USA) and my Code Reader (AU319) has thrown up the following Codes:
(i) P 0340 Camshaft Position Sensor;
(ii) P 1391 Interim loss of CMP or CKP.
I only have a Multimeter.
I'm shaking in my 'boots' that this could be serious stuff and I'm NOT an auto electrician.....
]I've purchased Scanner Danner's Book - have perused it pretty thoroughly, and have come up 'blank' as to a solution!.
Please can yo help with the testing of the two sensors using only a Voltmeter - Scanner discusses this on video ...but... he doesn't clearly show the placement of the leads etc.
Looking forward to your assistance, so I can get 'can of worms' back safely on the road.
Best regards,
Lloyd4560

It will be almost impossible to pick up an intermittent sensor fault without an oscilloscope.
It's also good to google the fault along with your engine model - looks like some interesting possibilities out there www.jeepforum.com/forum/f9/possible-reso...-p1391-codes-426634/

Getting involved in discussions because I have a lot to learn still.
