Hello, I am working on a 1995 mitsubishi Exlipse. Main complain is idle fluctuation, Intermitted Non throttle response, stalls several times before stay idling but surging idle badly. DTC code for IAC motor problem. Customer put a new idle control motor without any fix. Car runs but poorly.
My scan tool does not communicate with the ECU in OEM mode. Only OBD standard. Looking for some live data I can see, Minus 40 degree on ECT sensor, Minus 40 degree for IAT sensor. Error code for MAP as well. This engine is a MAP engine, NO Mass Air Flow sensor. Both Sensors are OK. Wiring are OK to the sensors. Ref voltage 5 volts and grounds present on each sensors. So far I have troubleshooted, everything point out on a bad ECM. Any suggestion will be appreciated...

What codes are you getting? I would save the scan or write down the codes and try to clear the codes to see what happens.
Then pick one code maybe MAP in this case (whatever is easiest to get to) and check it against code set criteria. If everything checks out and fails to meet the code set criteria then it’s bad PCM. If you don’t have access to code criteria I will send it to you along with diag charts.

Thank you for updating us with a fix.
Curious, did you notice if the temperature pids are accurate now?

Yess, the temp reading for the Engine Coolant and Intake Air was reading accurate after replacing the ECU.
