Hey guy gotta another one for ya. 2005 Ford 500 with a CVT transmission. The owner had the frame or something underneath welded. On his way home from the weld shop he lost forward and reverse. He asked me to look at it to see if something happened to it from the welding.
You cant feel anything going from F to R
Codes are
P2766 Input / turbine speed sensor B circuit.
P0715 Turbine/input shaft speed sensor A circuit
U0001 High speed CAN communication Bus
P0810 Clutch position control error.
P0701 Transmission control system range/performance
Are these transmissions know to go bad, or would any of these codes cause a non functioning transmission?
Thanks

Quick answer, yes, those transmissions are notoriously soft.
Of course you should check code definitions and see if there's something obviously in common.

And the frames rot bad, I can just about picture where he had it welded.

I've put multiple transmissions (used) in the same car only to have them fail time and time again.

It may be worth doing a visual on the under side of the car to see if there's some harness damage after the repair, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's just another expensive paper weight.
