2004 Kia Sedona 3.5L Timing belt replacement was created by joshuamal
All,
I’m needing a timing belt diagram for this vehicle, Kia Sedona 3.5L. I’m replacing the crank sensor due to fault and noticed the belt with cracks on it. It seems a little difficult for replacement, any inputs on the replacement and procedures along with a belt diagram or layout would be great to have.
Also, while searching information for the removal of crank sensor, found some comments of people having issues with the harmonic balancer pulley boot being a problem of breaking off. I already removed it but will need this layout information along with the torque spec on the crank pulley bolt (harmonic balancer) center bolt.
Any other inputs with this job or procedures from past experience are welcome.
Thanks
Josh

Buy a DIY of Mitchell or alldata for replacement instructions. don't reuse the crank bolt. get the new updated bolt and washer from KIA

I agree with gav09 about the crank bolt. The Sorento's of the same year had problems with the bolt breaking off in the crankshaft after someone reused it. Kia has a TSB about it, though it doesn't apply to the Sedona. I'd replace the bolt anyway.
Be sure to replace the hydraulic tensioner as well, if your belt kit didn't come with one. These belts will take any excuse to jump time. Too long a belt and too many pulleys/sprockets, IMO.
