2013 Ford F-150 5.0L Intermittent crank no start was created by Boostage187
Good evening fellas,
I've got a interesting one in yesterday..
2013 ford f150 5.0l
Intermittent crank no start condition. Condition only comes up after driving for a few miles, Returning to shop, shut down, let sit for about 15min.
Upon returning to the vehicle to start it just cranks, but will eventually start after 5-10 key cycles.
When condition is present i checked
Fuel pressure- 0psi,
Injector Pulse- no pulse
Spark- No spark
Scan tool connected-
u0422 present- Invalid data from BCM
No other codes
Check RPM reading 0rpm when cranking.
All that was checked yesterday. Fast Foward to t this morning. I drove the vehicle and came back, shut it down, when to start it immediately and crank no start.. But theres a catch. Fuel pump is priming this time.. Now no spark, injector pulse, and RPM when cranking.
Kinda lost on where i should start at this point.

You saying this morning you had no spark or injection pulse with an rpm signal? Or no rpm signal if it were me crank no start no spark or injection pulse I’d go after the crank sensor

No RPM reading. sorry if im not very clear. Im all over the place these days being short handed and trying to diagnose this truck.
The TSB had already been previously done.

Well I’d definitely check the crank sensor and wiring.

Try heating up the crank sensor with a heat gun or tapping on it? If you have scope scope it
