Hi guys, first time posting to this forum. I'm wondering if I can replace a faulty I/P cluster (Courtesy lights inop and turn signal indicators inop) without the need to program anything. Alldate states,
"NOTE: Certain indicators in this instrument cluster are automatically configured. This feature allows those indicators to be activated or deactivated for compatibility with certain optional equipment. If the problem being diagnosed involves improper illumination of the cruise indicator, the electronic throttle control indicator, the overdrive-off indicator, the service four-wheel drive indicator, the transmission overtemp indicator, the upshift indicator, the security indicator or the gear selector indicator, disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. After about five minutes, reconnect the battery negative cable and turn the ignition switch to the On position. The instrument cluster should automatically relearn the equipment in the vehicle and properly configure the configurable indicators accordingly." I'm certain this customer is looking to have a boneyard cluster installed. Just wandering where the mileage might be stored and if it's as straightforward as Alldata seems to suggest.

Thanks for the reply Cheryl. I'm afraid I got a little ahead of myself here. Pulled the cluster and went to confirm I had all my powers and grounds and it turned out I was missing power from fuse 18 in the TIPM (circuit A944). The fuse was good and power was coming out the bottom of the TIPM at connector C7. About 12" from the bottom of the TIPM I found an open. (A little tug on the wire and the insulation tore and you could see the corroded wire). Spliced the connection and all is well.
