Anyway to retrieve SRS codes on 05-06 Toyota Tacoma using the paper clip method on OBD 2 on these vehicles?

Father lives in Hawaii and the code readers he has don't read SRS. He scheduled appt for the 4th but was wondering if I could somehow figure out if it's possible to pull the codes the old school OBD I ways?

IF possible does anyone have the picture of the connector with the pinout if it can be jumped to retrieve the code and watching the SRS light to flash giving you the code?

IF he lived nearby I could just go plug it in and pull the code up for him. Any and all help is appreciated and thank you in advance.

My guess is this isn't possible or is it without a scanner to retrieve the codes? My father said he had the Torque app but I don't know what scan tool he uses with it.
I do know a year or so ago Toyota replaced the frame on this pickup and I'm wondering with all the switching over if something got pinched, etc?

Not sure this year of Toyota will give you flash codes. :( I've never seen anything in the SI that suggests it would. Would a local parts store give him a code scan with an SRS capable tool? I don't think Torque or Torque Pro will get the job done.

If I was a gambling man, I'd put my money on a clockspring. Semi-common across most Toyota products. But, without a code, diagnosis is a shot in the dark. :silly:
