Codes Won’t Clear was created by Nelixuk2003
Hi all

I am in the UK and have a strange issue on a friends car.

Vehicle details as follows:

Peugeot 806
2.0
Year 2000

The vehicle has had several codes in the engine management ECU for some time relating to air flow, brake switch, and cam/crank sensor synchronisation.

Even though all associated parts have been replaced and both brake switches show as operating fine when doing functionality tests the codes will still not clear, codes in the BSI can be cleared no problem it just appears to be the Engine ECU.

Now, the strange thing is that my own car, a Peugeot 807 2.2 year 2003 ( this is the model up from the 806), now has the same 4 codes which cannot be cleared. I have tried using a Solus Ultra, Verus Pro and also Peugeot Planet (Peugeot dealer software/tool) and they just wont clear.

Codes are as follows:

P0380 - Preheat Relay Circuir (common on Peugeot’s apparently)
P0402 - Air flow higher than setting
P0340 - Canshaft/crack Shaft Syncronization
P0571 - Brake Contact Signal

I don’t have access to wiring diagrams for these vehicles to see if these are linked in anyway, maybe via a ground.

Any ideas anyone might have would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Derek
