I have a question if you wouldn’t mind helping. 06 Lexus GS430 where does it get its speed reading from while driving the car? I have no speed signal and going through it seems like it has several sensors please help. Shows no speed signal while driving with a scanner. VSC light keeps coming on P0500. Thanks a lot
FYI Odometer works fine

TC P0500 Vehicle Speed Sensor "A"

DESCRIPTION
The speed sensor SP2 detects the rotation speed of the transmission output shaft and sends signals to the ECM. The ECM determines the vehicle speed based on these signals. An AC voltage is generated in the speed sensor SP2 coil as the parking gear mounted on the rear planetary gear assembly rotates, and this voltage is sent to the ECM. The parking gear on the rear planetary gear is used as the timing rotor for this sensor.

looks like its the sensor mounted to the side of trans, left side of the car (divers side if you're in the US), end of the trans. Before where the transfer case would be if it's AWD

Really the same as a crank position sensor or a wheel speed sensor for ABS It will either be a square wave from a Hall Effect sensor or a Sine Wave from a 2 wire VR Magneto Resistive sensor.

Thats the input shaft speed from the torque convertor which because slippage in the torque convertor will normally be lower than engine RPM sensor the the module controlling the transmission use the inputs from all three speed input to determine the correct shift points and if the torque converter can be shifted into locked mode.
