2021 Ford f150 4wd 5.0 goes into limp mode intermittently and has u2110:00 - throttle/pedal position sensor/switch 'a' communication circuit high: no sub type information - pcm - electronic throttle
u2110:00 - throttle/pedal position sensor/switch 'a' communication circuit high: no sub type information - pcm - electronic throttle. Okay so this one we have been stumped on it goes into limp mode intermittently and throws this code. It seems that the throttle actuator and is pulse width modulelated and cannot do a normal sweep test of it. Also I have gone threw the flow tests the wiring from the pcm to the ETC assembly. during the test the only thing that stood out was 5 volts present on pin 3 brown wire of the ETC when unplugged and the flow chart says 5 volts should not be present when unplugged and that there is a short to voltage. Now I checked the resisitance values between all the wires and there is no continuity like I would expect if it was shorted to say the 5 volt referance circuit. Also it seems strange that it will run fine and then randomly throw the code. What I dont like about the flow chart is it does not actually test the ETC assembly if anything its a if not this than that type of thing. I dont want to just throw a ECT in it or a pcm annd would like some input so I can have some defenitive data for a proper diagnoses.
Actually I think I just figured it out turns out that the 5 volts at the TP wire pin E8 is a pull up voltage that the pcm sends out to test the circuit. So with a test light hooked up to t with KOEO the voltage drops and the test light does not illuminate indicating it is not a short to 5 volts and confirms the integrity of the circuit. So we will be installing a new Electronic throttle body instead. I believe the service information we were using was incorrect to some degree.
