Looking for insight where to start hunting im new here and making my way through the classes and book. I have a Highlander that loses its speedometer and gauges as well as backlighting. Seat belt and a few other symbols stay lit up but no gauges. Clock and key in ignition sound also go away too. I checked all the fuses all are good. However the part that’s throwing me off is when you pull ecu-b fuse for five mins or so and put it back. Everything comes back and works flawlessly. Will drive for hours fine and never lose it you can even turn the car off and on and still works. After 10 mins or so of car being off you lose everything again.
I would probably monitor the power and ground and circuits to the instrument cluster. A sope with multiple channels would be ideal, but you could use a meter and volt drop test the powers and grounds with the cluster still plugged in while the fault is present.
