I’m working on a 2016 ford expedition that was written up for “vehicle stalls out and difficult to restart. Vehicle stalls more frequently when driving than idling and only happens when engine is hot.”
I changed all 4 O2 Sensors, all 6 spark plugs, all 6 coils, cleaned the throttle body, cleaned the map sensor, and the passenger side valve cover gasket. I changed the valve cover gasket since spark plug 5 hole(passenger side middle) was halfway filled with engine oil. Before removing the spark plug in that spot I sucked out the engine oil.
After performing the tune up and the other repairs I just mentioned the idle was super rough. I removed the new O2 sensors to see if it would stall out still and it did plus had rough idle still. I was checking to make sure the cats weren’t clogged. I got B1310-14( run/start control) and P0230-14 code after diagnosing for awhile. Code was not there prior to working on car. I dropped the fuel tank to make sure no wires are broken. No wires broken there. I also doubled checked my work to make sure I didn’t forget to plug something in or something else silly. It seems more electrical. There are certain points where it runs for a few minutes while idling while being at operating temperature. Scan tool shows good fuel pressure the whole time. I swapped relay fuel pump relay and run/start relay with good similar relays located in fuse box. I also tested them using relay tester and they are for good
As of now the vehicle still idles rough on and off but for most part rough plus still stalls out. Anyone got ideas as to what could be the issue? Thanks
