Hey guys. looking for guidance on this one. 2017 Forester with 120k miles. Customer complaint of a bunch of warning lights on dash, mostly trans and temp lights. Car starts and drives fine but no communication with any scanner in the shop and OBD global. Ohmed out I have 56.7 ohms, I hooked my scope up and it appears like Can hi and low voltage wise seems ok but i believe I have a noisey module or something here. I thought 56 ohms was out of spec but a quick google search is claiming 55 to 65 is fine. when I unplug Connector b553/i231 ohm reading is 120 perfectly so I'm leaning towards something tied in with J/C 1256 ex. data module, ac control panel, MFD, RAB CM, stereo camera.... All of these seem like a PITA to get to so I'm hoping someone has been in this spot before and can give some guidance on where to go next or maybe I'm thinking about all of this wrong. I'll add scope pictures here once I have time.

Make sure you have battery voltage on pin 16 of the DLC and a good ground on pins 4 & 5.

Welp, found it..... The tranny lights and all of that is because of a faulty AWD solenoid. The no Com issue is from corrosion inside the DLC pins, couldn't see how bad it was since it's at a angle but I decided to hook a break out box to it and then I lost my Can Hi signal all together, thought it was very odd so I unplugged the Pinout box and checked at the DLC with T pins like I normally do and I had a signal. With the Pinout box plugged in and probing 6 it would disappear. Thankfully the boss was stopping out to check in when I decided to reach up and twist the connector around and and boom we had com and I was able to get the vehicle to talk then so he's looking to see if we can get a pigtail type repair or something drawn up for the customer. My guess is the T pins fit farther up in the terminals then the OBD connectors and that's why I could get a signal but not talk. We called and notified him of this extra issue and he mentioned that oh yea the last couple times ive had the car in other shops they all have made the mention they couldn't get it to communicate...... grrrrrr mondays.

I was not able to talk to any modules besides the presence system i think??? I forget but like my last post said I found the pins in the OBD connector were not making good contact and after twisting the wiring going to the connector I was able to communicate with the vehicle. The reason I thought we had a can signal issue was because the way in some areas look like small glitches and it just doesn't look very clean but maybe that's because of the bad contacts. I was gonna save as screenshots on the scope and post them that way but using google and the website on the zeus takes more time then just snapping a picture with my phone and sharing that way so the pictures don't look as great.
