Hey Everybody-
Have a 2000 MB E320 in the shop. Came in as a no crank. Instrument cluster going nuts... weird things happening. Scoped the network and it was being pulled down. Customer failed to mention that he dumped a large coffee all over the shifter. Once I unplugged the shift module network came back. Car sat for a few hours.. plugged module back in and the car started up but no interlock release.... no com with shift selector module. Powers...grounds... etc all good. Time for the $600 shifter replacement. My question: Does anybody know if replacing the shifter is plug and play or does it require software/coding? Shop key is useless. Any help appreciated!
