1995 Lincoln Continental No PCM communication. was created by joshwilliams010
Hello everyone, this is my 1st introduction to the forum. Ill go ahead and start with the nitty gritty. 1995 Lincoln Continental 4.6. Crank no start condition. Has no spark or fuel injector pulse. No power to fuel pump. Its obd2 however the pcm will not communicate with the scan tool. Scan tool communicates with all other modules. Other modules do have codes relating to missing rpm signal, missing coolant temp, missing vehicle speed sensor input, etc. Tps sensor is getting 5v reference voltage from pcm. Is it possible for the pcm to have good power and ground and even send out a good 5v reference but will not compute or communicate the information it has to allow the engine to run. What does everyone think? Next diagnostic process? Or is time to just order a PCM.

hi the lighting control module provides a ground for ignition maybe check that module powers and grounds for that module and maybe tap on it not sure if a 1995 is obd 2 I believe everything prior to 96 is pre obd 2

Thanks for the diagram, I did find that on Mitchell prodemand today and all those fuses had continuity, however only 2 had 12v going through them, the others had 5v going through them which I thought was a little weird.

Isolate and back probe the battery feed wire on the 1st harness. Should be 12v coming into the PCM.
May also have to do a resistance check on that wire. Further look at the pins inside the harness. It is possible that they have corrosion or some evidence of flood damage.
