How does PCM control/ limit boost?

Hi Guys

In general, WHY would a PCM limit the boost? I think I know HOW it would. It limits the boost by controlling the duty cycle to the BCS.

But considering the different maps, how would it prioritise in the sense of, "What will it see before it starts to say, HOLD ON, something wrong here, limit the boost"?

After a reset my car boosts fine (1bar on my Boost Gauge), then after about 70kms of driving, it will boost like only till 0.5bar).

The moment I reset PCM, it is normal for a while again. Which leads me to think some average value that gets monitored/recorded does this.

So I would like to have an idea what the PCM uses to do this?

PS: No error codes present.

Car is Opel Corsa OPC 2012.

TIA
