I ran across a 2008 ford fusion with a fried pcm, frying a coil #5 and codes for #3/#6 circuit. this car has a budget book flex board computer and chips are painted. this system looks to be like it is a high fallible part. also got a scope capture of #4 coil primary.

That's kind of a wacky primary signal. Multispark system like the Crown Vic's and trucks?

"Ground cannot be checked with a 10mm socket"

yes it is a bit odd of a wave and probable to limit heat on the control fets that still got fried, I am not sure on the similarities to a Crown Vic or trucks of the same year
