93 Honda Accord LX - Bogs down when give it gas... was created by rharvey
vehicle bogs down when we give it gas. We have changed the fuel pump ( it needed it) and to fuel filter ( it needed it )
(wont go over 2000 rpm) where to look next and were do we find the specs for the sensors? we need to test the to find out if the are bad.
thanks
Robert

Before going into deltails of the fueling system have you checked for a plugged exhaust ? ---the symptoms fit.
ISTR the Honda PGFI system on the 93 was pretty simple --- three main sensors MAP (manifold pressure), IAT (inlet air temperature) and TPS (throttle position) ISTR from my Honda owner ship days this system has 3 small diameter vacuum hoses going to the throttle body with two going to the ignition distributor check the condition of these before doing anything else. I am working from the th manual for a UK market version so some wire colors and details might be different from your car.
The throttle position sensor ISTR is on the rear side of the throttlebody --- a pretty standard 0-5v 3 wire type. central wire red/blue(?) is the signal. One of the outer wires (yellow/White ?) is a 5v supply the other (green/white) is a ground. Key on when you sweep the throttle slowla y from idle position to full ll throttle and back the voltage on the signal wire should go fro about 0.4 volts to about 4.5 colts and back to 0.4v with no glitches. Digital Multimeters are a bit slow to react for this test so move the gas pedal very slowly. Old style analogue meters work better for this test if you don't have advanced test equipment.
The MAP sensor on Hondas of this era depending on engine type can be mounted to the bulkhead behind the engine or directly on the inlet . If it is mounted on the bulkhead check the condition of the hose connecting it to the manifold. Again it is a fairly normal 5v three wire sensor. yellow/White (or on some vehicles yellow/red) is 5v supply Red/Green is Signal and White/Green is Ground
