Odd spark lines

This is from a 4 cylinder engine from a 1967 Mini Cooper running all original points ignition. The scope is on a 1979 Sun 1115 Performance Analyser. The engine is running perfectly, no misfiring, the only indication of a problem is from the secondary pattern. On three of the four cylinders the spark line isn't a clean vertical line but has strange loops and anomalies. HT leads and plugs are new but the cap is possibly thirty years old. Engine seems to perform well, no missing or other indications of an ignition fault. Any suggestions ?.

Obviously I can just replace the cap however before doing this I'd like to be able to diagnose the possible causes of the odd patterns.

Looks like a scope artifact, a scope trace can't loop in normal volts against time mode.
