Been working on a 04 audi a4 v6 computer controlled grounds are shorted.
some of ecu signal wires(grounds) are reading 12v but going from battery negative to pos probe on various relays.
This happened after grounding out the starter solenoid ...vehicle started twice after the electrical mishap but shut off on its own now it wont start. Not getting fuel inj pulse nor is it getting spark on all cylinders these the readings are the same
Do you have communication with A scan tool? Is the 12v read on a ground side switched circuit with the circuit disconnected? Power will flow through whatever your testing all the way to the ECM until ground is supplied . Is the 5v ref at 5v or 0? The crank sensor connector is on the firewall on the drivers side you could try to measure resistance and AC voltage with that connector unplugged if you have access to a scope that's even better!
