2014 Silverado AC blowing warm but my pressure on gauges don’t look bad was created by Eggman2025
2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pick up with 50,000 miles. I’ve replaced the ac condensor about 5 years ago and ac blew cold until maybe two months ago. I can’t remember if it was slowly going out or if it did it all of a sudden? But right now it blows warm air. Compressor spina the whole time. Even if I press the AC button to turn off ac the compressor is still spinning. The only way the compressor is not spinning is if I turn the all of the Ac/ fan off.
so low side I’m showing about 25/30. And high side I’m showing like 150/200.
I was thinking it’s low on refrigerant so I tried to add some but when I got to 200 on the high side I stopped. The low line gets cold. Not ice cold. I checked fuses and were good. I sprayed soap and I did find the expansion valve block bubbling. So not sure if this is gunsmoke or if it could be the evaporator coil? Would a bad expansion valve be internal failure? Or would it also bubble?

What was the ambient temperature when you took these readings? Were the cooling fans running?

Ok I have you some good feedback.
75 degrees. Humid. Did it at 19:00.
turned on pickup and with the fan running and ac button not pressed the clutch was still spinning on the compressor. The low side was oscillating between 20-25 and the high side between 150-200 like it the compressor was still functioning. Both cooling fans were running and would cycle off and on as well. I pressed the AC button so it was lit up and the pressures and fans continued doing the same thing. No change. The low side line was very cold. And the high side was hot. Inside truck the air was still blowing warm.
I turned off the fan/ac completely and the gauges seem to be traveling towards a stopping point of 92 on low and 100 on high.
