Nissan X-trail 2.2 Di Hard start was created by r3s1s74nc3
Hello guys !
This is my first post here , so i hope it's not so rude to ask for help directly ...
So the car is Nissan X-trail ( T30 model ) with 2.2 Di 114 hp engine 2002 year . Probably made only for Europe
It has problem with really hard starting , cold , hot , doesn't matter , every time .
After the start up everything is fine , good amount of power , smooth running engine , no black smoke etc. Ofc there is no fault codes stored in the ECU . I readed the live data while the car is cranking and there is rpm reading and fuel pressure . The owner already has change the timing chains , crank and cam sensor , the high fuel pressure pump valves , the fuel pressure sensor on the rail ( actually not 100% what the hole history of the repairs , several shops worked on this car ) . I checked the wiring to the ecu of the cam and crank sensor and its OK . But i'm starting to think there is something wrong with the timing chains cuz he told me , when they change it some parts left from the kit , cuz there were not for this car , the camshaft sprocket gear were different ... If someone can provide crank cam waveform for this engine ( both sensors are inductive ) , i will be greatly thankful .
And one more question , is it matter on an inductive sensor , 2 wire sensor , if you rotate the wires ? Wire 1 goes to pin 2 , and wire 2 goes to pin 1 .

Has an injector leak-back test been done ? That is the most common cause of poor starting on diesel DI the other is the low pressure fuel pump some Bosch DI systems have two LP pumps one in or near the tank and one in the engine bay.

The leak-back fuel on the injectors are under the valve cover , like D4D engines on Toyota . Out of the valve cover goes out one main house which is for the leak-back fuel . So i decided to block it with pliers and ... no effect . Interesting fact is that while the car is cranking there is almost no activity on the rpm tacho . When the tacho start to move the car starts . But it takes some time this to happen .. Thats why i want to check the cam crank waveform .

Because thay are subject to extreme vibration cam sensor failures are a known common failure causing no starts on direct injection diesels.
Then next check for injector pulse (it will be weird looking), and output from the fuel rail hp sensor.

There is no control to the injectors , while cranking . But the interesting part is that , there is 4 wires to every injector . 2 wires goes to the main ECU , and 2 goes to the so called injection control unit , so this system has 2 ECUs
