Subject: 09 saturn outlook 3.6L GM LLT

Comments / Questions: I am out of options. I do not know what to do.

I drove my vehicle 1800 mi on a trip. I parked it 5 weeks and it will not start.

It has good battery, turns over fine, good fuel pressure, no codes.

It will not fire.

So I believe it is timing or ECM.

There is 150 psi in one of the front cyl that was tested.

I am sorry to bother you, but this car is 1200 mi from my house and I am at a loss what could have happened while parked!!!

Thanks in advance!!!

Do you mean that you have no Spark? Or, that it will not start and run?

I drove the car on an 1800 mi trip. It ran beautiful, no issues at all.
I parked it for 5 weeks. I went to start it and it would crank all day but not start.
The dealer/3rd party/myself has determined NO SPARK.
Has good fuel pressure/communication with fuel controller.
Has good battery/starter/alternator.
Has all new plugs and cops.

NO CODES which is why it is hard to diagnose!!!

OK just slow down a little bit. We have determined we have no spark. Question is why? This is a COP system, so what does your primary voltage look like? Go to coil #5 and back probe pin #1 which should be a dk green wire by the wiring diagram. This is your control from the ECU (pin 57 on ECU). Is there any voltage there when you try to crank the motor? I think you can use a incondesant test light. Turning the engine over you should see the light flicker if the ECU is commanding the coil to spark. If you don't see that then we will proceed to other inputs on the ECM.

That's why Danner preaches circuit design constantly. Understanding inputs and outputs is Huge. Knowledge is Power
