Does anyone in the group have any experience with e36 BMW’s? I have an August 1996 323i 2.5l 6 cylinder running a Siemens ms41.0 dme/ecm to look at. The complaint is rough running and/or stalling and needing a few minutes before a restart. The codes are for Cam sensor, Crank sensor and 1 for an O2 heater circuit. I have duplicated the problem and lost injector pulse when it happened (scan data) I also believe spark dropped as well. I am thinking that the O2 heater circuit code is because it feeds off the same supply as the fuel injectors. I checked the main relay and had no signal from the ecu to earth the control side. I would like to scope the cam and crank sensors to verify that they are the cause of the complaint but the connector at the ecu doesn’t look like I can dismantle it enough to back probe and to access the sensor connectors apparently requires the removal of the inlet manifold. Does anyone know a way around this?

Thanks Cheryl. Was trying to avoid that but if that's my only option, a piercing I will go :)
