hello all, I have a 1992 umc aeromate which is based on the Carvan chassis with the 3.3l engine. the problem i am having is it is running really rich. I can see and smell fuel in the exhaust. it also stalls with a puff of white smoke when the gas is pressed. I know I'm getting spark and the fuel pressure is right on target. Only other thing it could possibly be is fuel injectors firing too much fuel. I am attempting to make sure the pulse from the ecm to the injectors is good but I keep getting a light with my test light connected to ground on both sides of the injector pigtail. this can't possibly be right can it? it is my understanding that I should be getting a light only on the side.
The wiring diagram that I pulled up shows the injectors as ground side switch. To confirm this, unplug one of the injectors and with your test light on ground check each one of the injector terminals. The one that lights is the feed wire. The diagram that I pulled shows that as a dk-green and orange wire. Regardless of the wire diagram, each one of your injectors will have one wire that is the same color in common with the other injectors. This will be your feed wire. Unplugged, if it lights, then they are ground side controlled.
Also, have you checked your engine compression? Also check your map sensor as well.
