2008 caddy dts. What is acceptable a/c ripple in alternator. On high alternator load I have a total peak to peak of 2.6v. Once charging system stabilizes, 1.4v peak to peak. Has intermittent problem of dead battery. Battery is new & load tests very good.

That is WAY too high. I believe, ScannerDanner's standard is .3vac (300mv) I have seen some people say that up to 0.5vac is ok.

Thanks for response. Info I have found also says 500mv but really wanted a 2nd opinion. High voltage are mostly rapid spikes, but this has also been an ongoing intermittent battery going dead as well, so all makes sense.
