I had posted about this issue a week or so ago. It was then a crank, no start, no bus displayed on odometer. Diagnosed it as a faulty pcm. Replaced it with a pre programmed unit. Truck started right up, test drive good. Few days later, it came back with a random stalling issue. When I first started checking it, it would stall just sitting there idling, then be difficult to start back up but it would start. After checking many things, it's now to the point that when it stalls, 99% of the time it fires right back up. ONE time, it would not restart and the security light was flashing. Left it sit for a few mins and it fired right back up. To throw more into the mix, when the truck originally came in, it had an aftermarket remote start in it. It was all hacked up so I removed it all and repaired the wires so I THINK I can rule that out as a variable now. I ha've not been able to make it stall, it's completely at random.
What I have checked is, the 5v reference, still present when it stalls. Crank signal, always present. Even at one point when it would crank but not start, the signal was still there. I have checked the ASD wiring. I had a test light hooked to batt neg and the other end to an injector feed (+) which is controlled by the asd relay. With the engine running, the light was lit, the engine finally randomly stalled, and a few seconds later the light went out. I have checked ignition switch wiring. The wire that feeds the pcm still has power when it stalls. I'm starting to rip my hair out with this one now! It's SO random it takes forever to get it to act up. I almost think it's more than one problem. Also, the engine doesn't have to be hot for it to do it. The first time it did it for me was after about 2 mins of running. I hope someone else can point me in the right direction or at least give me something else to check, I'm out of idea.
One last thing..when it does stall, it's like right now. It doesn't seem to be running out of fuel or a mixture issue. It's more like the ignition is cut and or injector pulse. Meaning it doesnt bog down or spit and sputter before it dies, it just quits like you turned the key off.
HELP!!

Also forgot to mention, zero codes, no CEL. I can communicate with pcm. Something I did find odd is there are 2 current sync pids. Can't remember how exactly it was worded in the scan tool but one said ok, and one said sync lost or something like that.

just had a caravan with a 3.8 liter it was an intermittent stall. i looked at the dis sync signal it read crank/cam when it didnt act up then went to just cam. monitor the crank and cam sensors not just one. replaced both has been good

I did so much stuff today I forgot to mention that. The first time I monitored the crank, I also had the cam signal as well. It's going to be something stupid that I'm missing. Part of me thinks it might be something within the new pcm but I'm not comfortable with that call yet.
