2007 vw beetle non convertible battery drain. was created by cheryl hartkorn
couldnt find out how to edit my last post. needing some help on figuring this out, have a 400 milliamp draw tracked it down to fuse 14 in the interior fuse box. tried performing voltage drop across the fuses but didnt see any. pulled fuse 14 draw went to 25 milliamps. that feeds the central comfort module. i didnt feel like going any farther checked the ignition feeds at the module there good when there supposed to be off. also didnt have a terminal tool to depin pins 1 by 1. short story is i put a new module in it didnt fix it. so went back cut the wires pin 10 on the t23 connector gets rid of the drain. i have the trunk release switch unplugged. would you call a cluster at this point? what other checks would you do?? just working on it during spare time. any help appreciated!

Forgive me I don't mean to question your ability I just want to make sure you had door switch closed for a period of time to allow all modules to shut down before testing? And kept it closed during testing to avoid waking any modules up? I don't have access to diagrams at the moment to see what that wire goes to to advise next test maybe someone can post diagram?

I'm, still, trying to find pin 10.

Do you have your meter set to mV?

I think I would introduce an alternate ground to pin 10, and see if the draw returns. Keep in mind what Ben said about waiting long enough to let the modules power down. Fuse 14 is HOT all the time, so supplying the ground is likely to "wake it up". Be sure to wait long enough for it to go back to sleep. Also, make sure it GOES to sleep. Some modules can take up to an hour to go to sleep. A multi-meter set to Milli-volts DC should show a voltage drop across the fuse.

Where is the trunk solenoid in that diagram? Does that switch go directly to solenoid or to ground?
