Skoda Oktavi MK1:Radiator Fans keep blowing at low speed, even after contact off was created by PeetR
Hi everybody, especially Paul Danner!
I'm all the way from the Netherlands, I crossed a scannerdanner YouTube video with a similar issue on a VW GTI 2002 and thought I could use the wiring diagram, but unfortunately it's not exactly the same.
My Skoda Octavia Combi Comfort (2002) has an issue with the radiator fans: they keep spinning at low speed, even with contact off.
The car being this old and with nothing less than 486000 km under the wheels, the mechanics at the repair stations (two independent ones had a try at it) give it up. I want to give it a chance though, cause the car runs smoothly nevertheless!
So what I'm looking for is the right wiring diagram all around the Fan Control Module (1J0 919 506 L). My own repair station gave me a diagram today, but again not the right one (via workshop.autodata-group.com by means of the cars registration number).
The first noticeable difference with a lot of diagrams and YouTube video's is that mine has a temperature switch in the radiator with only two pins instead of three.
Hopefully someone can provide me with the wiring diagram!
Kind regards,
Peter

Hello, tell us your engine code to get little more help.
Btw in many cases VW group cars who got 2 wires sensor at the radiator,
isn't a switch ... is a temperature sensor which reads the radiator's temperature
In that case, fans are ECU controled.
When to start and when to stop, depents from the 2 temperature sensors,
1 at the thermostat housing, (4 pins, green colour i think)
and the 2nd at the radiator (2 pins, right side, thin wires)
Have you scan ECU ??
good place to start is to check what is the engine temp that ECU is reading ??
