working on GDI system is horrible!!!stress!!!am working on tis car with not start condition.the only problem i get is no injections control at all.is it possible to check injector controll signal from injector drive module with a test light?am getting 5 volts on one wire and the other wire 300 mv and i think 5 vlts is bias voltage coz i get it connect unplugged only.
I'd suspect not. I'm still new to GDI but I'm quite certain there's an opening voltage go up to 80v then a Pwm hold signal to keep it open.
Either way yours is definitely too low.
You certain it's a 1996 with GDI?
not able to get any diagrams on this but being a gdi you should have fuel pressure sensor. Do this pull your fuel pump fuse and crank your engine, at run what are the readings of this sensor. With the fuse back in and key off then to run what is the readings. Now test when cranking to see what you got as a reading
Sorry now seeing this one, hope I can still help. I have experience dealing with the Gdi's and should have diagram to help.
With KOEO, on a working 4g93 gdi I got over 5V but I wouldn't be too concerned. A 4g13 gdi I'm working on now has 3.9V. Treat it like any other no start, look for what you're missing. You have spark? Tried starter fluid?
Did you check these videos on GDI? You're a premium member right?
Great classroom lecture from Paul on the basics of this. You can also follow along in your book.
Honestly GDI isn't that bad just different. I think I saw you got flicker on a test light. I got that on the 4g13 and it's starting. 5V feed shouldn't be a concern, a fully operational 4g93 gdi had about that. Still need to know if throttle cleaner etc starting it. Most time with the gdi's here it's been fuel pumps, the injectors usually can take a beating. You have scan tool data? I'm sure I can help but need some more info.
Btw did the file I attached work? That's basically the Mitsubishi GDI setup.
