What would happen if you install a non VTEC rocker arm on a VTEC engine?
Why would you want to do this? Get the correct rocker arm & fix it right. Installing the incorrect rocker arm is asking for nothing but trouble.
The VTEC system operates by sending high pressure oil into the rocker arm assembly. This moves a rod into another rocker arm that rides on a different lobe of the camshaft. Installing the incorrect rocker arm could allow the rod to come out or push on something that it shouldn't. This could result in loss of oil pressure be detrimental to your engine. Either way, nothing good will come from doing this.
