Dears,

I am diagnosing a cheverolet Optra (Lacetti) 2008 1.6L engine. The car doesnt have any code. The problem with the car is sometimes the engine stalls when idling and when starting again, the car denies to start unless the accelerator pedal is pressed then it starts.

Briefly, the car doesnt start and it only cranks unless the pedal is pressed.

Any suggestion?

Thank you

IAC valve is closed or throttle body needs to be cleaned!!!
Look like the engine at idle has lack of air!?

As Derek suggested clean the throttle body. The electronic throttle bodies are very sensitive to the oily carbon buildup around the throttle plate

I am sorry but don t know about that system. If is drive by wire most probably you have exactly what Ben say...Opel 1.8 and 1.6 around 1998-2004 this happens a lot!

+1 for cleaning throttle body
