Vw Passat 2011 no crank no start was created by Martinwebster81
Hi.... I have a vw Passat 2011 2.0d blue motion, cffb engine code. Quick story off the car, it has come from another shop which told me they had put a jump starter on the wrong way round, they had changed comfort module and had Ecu tested (tested ok) so when I got it I scanned for codes got comms, there was a fuel pump relay shorted code and various others but decided tackle this 1 first it ended up being glow plug timer relay shorted so replaced that and short gone now, still no crank no start, so I sent ecu off again to be tested who I knew and trusted (tested ok) I've checked powers and grounds to Ecu twice gone through a pin data and tested all inputs which I think will enable it from cranking (all ok) the only trouble code now is p1604 -internal control module output driver ic error - open circuit.... any help will be very much appreciated as I am a few hours into this and with out resolving will not get paid

Forgot to mention car had bin in accident and has had dash replaced, other garage has assured me it ran after dash replacement and it was there fault for connecting jump pack wrong way. I also have no comms with door modules so removed drivers door card to check module, really bad smell of burnt electrics lol, checked power and ground (ok) so module had definitely bin cooked. Thanks. Martin.

I see your using generic obd2 codes, vw/audi use there own vag codes most obd2 readers won't read them at all, I recommend connecting to a Vag com and checking all the modules for codes . Otherwise you can attack this by checking spark and injection pulse and fuel pressure and see what your lacking then work your way from there.
