Ok here goes:
Vehicle : 1996 Acura 2.5 TL 5 cylinder A/T
Symptom : Low engine power / won't accelerate
Checked so far: Fuel PSI, Timing (cam), compression, intake not restricted, exhaust not restricted, valve clearance, MAF sensor, ECT sensor.
Notes: BOTH O2 sensors read rich (800mv or higher), STFT @ -20%, LTFT @ 0%, Intake vacuum around 15 inches of mercury, when you go to WOT it revvs but has no power, struggles to get to 60 mph.
No black smoke or foweled plugs (light brown), HORRIBLE fuel economy, never felt a rich running engine that acted like this but even at WOT when the ECU is in open loop it runs HORRIBLE and struggles to accelerate!!
New gas in tank, pulling the brake booster hose causes mixture to lean out and idle improves.
Leaning towards ECU at this point but this one has me stumped!!!

Reasons for suspecting ECM:
No LTFT correction
Ruled out everything else except injector spray pattern
Identifix has a confirmed fix for this exact problem on a similar vehicle

are the o2's fixed rich? or can you get them to react when pulling the brake booster hose? maybe try a capacitor discharge.

I can get them to react but it takes a HUGE vac leak and even then they go to 500ish mV
I did a V.E. test and I got 74%

So if I put my finger over the measuring port on the MAF and bring the grams per second to 0 at idle, the idle smooths out and the O2 goes to 500ish mV. It's like the ECU is dumping in way too much fuel and even tho the STFT is -20% it's not actually removing that much fuel, I checked the injectors and they all look CLEAN and the waveform looks good on them as well.
I am going to get a used ECU and I will report back
I am loading the parts shotgun lol

FIXED!! It was the ECU, for reasons unknown it was doing very strange things!
My guess: The car has a brand new alternator AND battery......I have a feeling the old alternator died in a catastrophic way and sent a voltage spike through the electrical system.
The world may never know, all that matters is the car is fixed for the cool price of $30 for a used ECM!!
