I actually don’t know what it felt like originally, when I purchased the car, I replaced put the pads as the first thing. The previous mechanic had (I know it wasn’t the owner, he knew nothing about cars) disconnected the low pad sensor wires to stop the warning light- the pads were so low that one of the sensors was ground down to a spec and virtually about to be disc and backing plate as the only braking to rely on.
They had also filled up the brake fluid right to the cap on the master cylinder, to compensate for the amount of fluid needed to push the (non-existent) pads out to the disc.
Yeah, just the usual 2 slider pins (checked them, none were out of grease and no signs of unusual wear). I had a VW that had worn sliders that caused noise, hence I thought I would check these ones whilst I was there. Single piston rear and twin fronts.
