{FIXED} 96 Dodge Ram v10 85k miles, no codes Dodge dealership could find and said the IAC motor wasn't working so I installed an OEM IAC from the dealership. Dealership did say that there was signal/power to the IAC.

Several years ago I changed out the IAC with an aftermarket one. Don't remember all the details at the time but I did adjust the idle control screw. So lately I have been at it again trying to get a faster idle at cold start low temperatures such as 30 degrees F. The RPMs I set the engine when fully warmed up is 700-800 RPMs but on a cold start the RPMs will be lower than the 700-800 mark on the tack, I can't tell the exact RPMs by the tack only in general. As far as I can tell there are no vacuum leaks. I pulled the air intake tube off and plugged the hole where the IAC draws air on a cold start, the IAC must be closed because there was no difference in RPMs. The engine struggles at lower RPM to remain running and sometimes stalls if no help from the foot feed on a cold start. From a video you posted on youtube about a ford I shouldn't have touched the idle screw.

This has been a warm garage queen all the time I have owned it and doesn't get out much in the winter time for a cold start so I really haven't had much of a problem with cold starts.

Is there any other information you can tell me to help solve this problem?

Never mind, my mistake.

To explain my mistake

The IAC and air port on the throttle body are at the top of the thottle body. With the spacer that goes between the throttle body and air tube has a hole so air can pass through to the IAC port. This spacer for a K&N cool air intake can be mounted upside down thus blocking off the IAC port. I got to looking at it closer and yep it was upside down.
