Hey Cheryl, glad to see you on the new forums!
I've never tried doing gauge repairs on these clusters, only replacement. Given GM's track record for gauge problems, I'd probably opt for a replacement assembly.
No access port for the 2000 Grand Prix that I know of If you're gonna do just a potentiometer, you might scope the motor with a current probe, just to check for any obvious pump problems.

Ahhhhh, but where would we be without the steady work that GM's provide?
No joke about the gauge sweep, I've been able to do that test as far back as 2001 on some trucks. Maybe try telling the scanner it's connected to a Silverado or a Sierra? I've had luck doing that with Isuzu's and Mazda's, looking for functions that should be there, bur aren't.
Any chance the Autel would have that function?

I was think that myself! Try calling it a Trailblazer instead of an SSR.Maybe try telling the scanner it's connected to a Silverado or a Sierra?
