Hi,
The first thing you should do is turn the crank by hand, useing a beaker bar 2 or 3 times make sure nothing binds. If it does .. It may also be the starter you might have to remove it. I would also remove any belts I have seen ac pumps keep a motor from turning over. If you hear noise see if you can find it may be the flex plate or a shield (I hope).
Now if the motor will not rotate 2 or 3 times.
The motor needs to come out.
Start from thereā¦.
Good luck.

You can start it without the belt to make sure it isn't an accessory pulley thats binding up the engine. Just don't run it like that for more than a minute or two.
While you've got the belt off, try turning each pulley by hand to see if you can find anything that's stuck.
I'd pull the engine oil dipstick and look for signs of metal debris. Glittery, shiny specks would be a bad thing
Any way something fell in the bell housing while you had the starter out? A bolt or socket or something?
For what it's worth, those old 5.0s were pretty mechanically sound engines. Hopefully it's nothing too serious
