Subaru B9 Tribeca from 2006 - P0026 was created by RafalEAS
Hi,
I have problem with B9 Tribeca 3,0 H6. Problem with P0026 trouble code.
I saw film from Scanner Danner on youtube about P0028 inSubaru, I have Vantage Pro and I did the same
steps like Mr Paul but when I unplug in my 2 pins intake valve control solenoid when switch is on, in my oil switch in this cylinder gasket I don't have battery voltage all the time there is all the times aroud 0 Volt.. When I unplug in 1 pin from switch there is 12 Volt. Wires from switch and valve to ECU seems to be good. There is no short to ground too.
Sorry for my english ! Please help me, I have big problem with this car..
Thanks for all !
Best regards,
Rafal

Are you able to unplug the valve and apply 12v to it to see if it is working moving? You can also activate it with your scan tool and see if it's moving. You'll be able to keep it on the car, plugged in, and put your hand on it to feel.

Another thing with the vvt is that it has to have good clean, proper viscocity oil it in to work properly.

That's where I'd start at least!

With the two pin connector unplugged, you should have around 0 volts on both wires. Paul had his test light connected to Battery + when he was determining which wire was CONSTANT GROUND and which was a SWITCHED 12v.

Test, again, with test light to BAT +

My valve is working when I put 12V on it. I change valve from left side to right and I get all the time P0026 from right gasket.. Oil switches are new.
I mean step from 4,00min when he unplug valve and in switch there was battery voltage. In this moment I have all the time 0,4Volt..
Oil in Subaru - 10w\40 Castrol ( fresh, about 1000km ).
Thank you for answear !

when he unplug valve

It is not the two-wire valve that he is unplugging. It his the one-wire pressure switch. With the SWITCH connector plugged in...0 volts. With the SWITCH connector unplugged....12 volts.

Ok, thank you! I didn't understand this part .
So when I unplug 1 pin connector from switch I have 12 Volt too.
I work with Vantage Pro oscilloscope when I set my canal 1 to positive wire of valve and canal 2 to wire of switch in this side of engine and I set higher rpm about 4,000 rpm per minutes I have all the time 0 volt on canal 2 from switch. When I give higher rpm my canal 2 from valve change duty cycle - 90% in low rpm and 61% in 4,000 rpm.I have new switch but this is not oem parts.. My new switch is about 1 ohm resistance. Oryginal, old one have 30 ohm and 60 ohm if I remember clearly.Do you now what resistance have new, oryginal one??
I have no voltage in both switch ( right and left gasket ) when I change rpm to high.
Thanks!!

Just to be sure, are you, also, connecting the black lead of the Vantage Pro to Battery Ground ?

Yes, black lead to battery ground. Engine ground is also good.
