2008 Land Rover LR2 3.2 fuel rail pressure sensor issue
Hello my fellow techs. This ole beaut came in today MIL on and no driveability concerns. She has multiple codes p0088 & 87 fuel rail pres high and low, and system rich codes with o2 rich codes. Fuel trims verified this with them being almost maxed negative and O2 was staying over 700mv. Fuel rail pressure was showing 130psi on scanner with actual around 83ish. The ole pressure sensor is appearing to head south. Vref and gnd was there of course and pres signal at 2.7v during the alleged 130psi. Open circuited she'll max 225psi on scanner and a touch over 5 on scope and with the signal pulled down she'll 0 out psi and voltage. . So Im thinking how in the flaming hell could i apply maybe 1.5 or so to her ( or whatever would be 65ish or so on the scanner, 1v was about 38 on scanner 25 actual) and bypass this mother and watch the pcm correct before i slam a sensor (which is part of the fuel rail) in it. What yall think? I thought this ole girl was gonna be a glorified escape like the older freelanders were until i popped the hood and saw the 3.2 volvo in her. I was prepared for the ole ford setup with that sensor and a FPDM which it would still have cause of the returnless fuel system but just frickin curious now.
