I have a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am with a P1811. checked the freeze frame data and the only thing i noticed were my fuel trims being rich. long term was at 29% and short term was at 9. total fuel trims were at 38. this was at 2200 rpm. was going to change out transmission filter and change fluid and see if this would fix the problem. however after seeing the fuel trim numbers was wondering if i should look in a different direction.

What Cheryl said.
Do you notice any shifting problems? Slipping?
P1811 is defined as Transmission Max Adapt/Long Shift. The computer has done everything it can to get the shift times under control, but still can't fix it. It's usually associated with worn transmission components.
Your fuel trims are definitely off. But, I think you mean to say they're lean, instead of rich? At 2200 RPM, you're under some light to moderate load, which could be pointing towards a MAF or fuel delivery issue.

the shift is harsh when this happens. in the freeze frame data it said i was only going 28 miles per hour. today when everything was working properly my tach only went up to 1800 rpm at 30 miles per hour. i just got done replacing fuel pump a couple of weeks because my car wouldn't start.
however after replacing the fuel pump i didn't check fuel pressures or anything because it started and ran fine after the repair. might try cleaning the MAF and see if that changes anything. the car does have 190,000 miles on it.
