Engine is the 5.7L. Trans is the 2WD 4l60E.

And that is what I am wondering about. I am swapping out the transmission (project has been delayed several weeks); and I figure it would be good to replace the torque converter. There seems to be two variants of torque converters for this application, at least according to rockauto:

1) DACCO B29DGF Reman;
Trans. code 4L60-E; 1397 Stall, 30 Splines, 3 Mounting Pads, Paper Clutch; General Motors trans.

2) DACCO B29DHHF Reman;
Trans. code 4L60-E; 1397 Stall, 30 Spline, 3 Mounting Pads, Carbon Clutch, Lockup; General Motors trans.

One seems to have a "paper" clutch (TC's themselves have CLUTCHES? Who knew? I didn't...) the other has carbon.

And what does "lockup" mean?

Any guidance would be appreciated!

Thanks, Pop
