06 Chevy Impala [FIXED] was created by Dtnel
I have a 06 Chevy Impala. 3.9 l eng. Wife was driving on way home and called and said lights came on. That meant I'm in trouble as this is her daily driver. Have a service traction control light, service brake assist in the dic and ABS light. The dic also displays the service traction control message.

I thought I've heard in the past years ago that there's something to do with engine throttle body issues regarding this combination of messages in the DIC?

I've been presented with a code of c0035 which would be the left front wheel speed sensor circuit malfunction.

I did have the modis edge hooked up and it only showed the DTC C0035 given all the messages in the dic I thought there'd be more than one code with all the lights in my display and dash warning lights.

Before I go digging in and tearing everything apart on the left front wheel I want to check and see if anybody else has had any experience with this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance everyone.

Actually I have a 08 Chevy Equinox that did the same thing sort of. I had the Service Traction Control light on as well as the service Stabilitrak light. Hooked up the scanner but didn't have any codes. Did a full scan and then the antilock brake scan. Looked all through the car (tore it apart) looking for loose connection or anything that may explain it. I cleared all codes and so far the lights have not come back. I expect it to come back on any day but so far nothing. I going to add a comment from "Gjauto" That helped me. I hope it help you too! Good Luck

If you read the part that the stabiltrak system can control engine torque if needed, you can assume it does so through the TAC system, using alot of pcm inputs. I'd say 75% of the time I've seen a gm vehicle with those indicators on it is a problem with the throttle body. Most of the time its just dirty. Some times the TPS sensor will glitch and not set a fault code in the PCM.

I had a 2009 camaro with a 6 liter that had an intermittent short to ground on the 5 volt ref2 circuit. Sometimes it would set an engine light for the crank sensor, sometimes it would set a code for the TAC, and sometimes it wouldnt set any codes. Go figure.

The tanker to the Engineer 'Out drink me if you can!'.
The tanker took one drink and then he started turning green,
But the Engineer kept drinking it was only gasoline!"

thats normal. ive seen it. check the resistance of the sensor should be roughly 1000 ohms. does it come right back after clearing it??

Went and dug into the ABS data while driving and once I got to a certain speed it kicked the code and the graph data for the L Front wheel sensor was not the same as the rest at a certain point. I was able to clear codes and manipulate the codes back on again over and over so I'm going to check wheel bearing, ABS sensor data as well as the poster stated above. Also I do have the other diagnostics of what to check from what the tool supplies with the subscription I have that also gets my semi annual upgrades. I'd completely forgot about the data display part initially but at least now I have a direction to go.

It was rubbed thru ABS Sensor wires and they were close enough they couldn't be spliced. The bearing had little minimal play in it so I purchased a Timken wheel bearing and installed it, cleared codes, took for test drive while monitoring data and it had great data on all 4 wheels compared to before so problem solved. Lesson learned to not jump the gun and follow the data or at least monitor it and go from there.
