GMC Can fob was created by Noah
The car salesman at our shop drives a 2005 GMC Canyon. He got it as a trade in with only one key and an after market alarm fob which he used only to unlock the doors.
It went for a swim and never unlocked his truck again.
I tried to set up a factory fob from the junk yard with no success. I know the battery is good. I can lock/unlock the doors via the door switch and through bidirectional controls, so I know the BCM has control of the locks.
The scan tool shows there are 2 fobs programmed, but I just can't get it to take another one. When I enter the mode to program fobs, it says make sure ignition is off, when you proceed, it shows data pids for lock and unlock command, and a check box for start and stop.
When I select start, there is no cycling of the locks or anything to indicate that it is in a learn more. I'm not sure if it should, but some indication would be nice.
Holding luck and unlock at the same time for up to 30 seconds has no effect. I've tried multiple combinations with the ignition switch, on-off-orb the door to kill Accessory delay...
I don't get it. Any advice?
Maybe the Canyon just didn't like Equinox fobs?
Thanks guys.
The canyon is an 05, the equinox fob was 06, I'm using Verus version 15.4

Thanks Cheryl,
I told him to get one for a Canyon or Colorado, or get another aftermarket beep-box.
I'm pretty sure it's an incompatible fob issue. There's a tsb for water intrusion making it's way to the BCM connector. The bcm looks dry and happy in this one.
