By posting the year, make, model and engine near the beginning of your help request, followed by the symptoms (no start, high idle, misfire etc.) Along with any prevalent Diagnostic Trouble Codes, aka DTCs, other forum members will be able to help you get to a solution more quickly and easily!
Follow up on this vehicle - there was no continuity on the two pin connector of the high pressure solenoid; likewise replaced fuse for the fuel pump motor (i should have taken a picture of both condition); checked for fuel pressure which measured about 73 psi. Engine now running without problem.
