I have a 2010 Buick enclave. My Autel scanner pulls up a U0100-00 TCM Code. ECM fuse keeps blowing. No crank and dash lights go out when trying to crank. I am thinking that the driver is ground. I have just looked at it once. I really don't have access to a wiring diagram. Not sure how to approach this problem. My initial thought is a bad ECM, but I don't want to just assume. Any help in how to test this problem. Limited to test light, multimeter and Autel scanner. Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks
To be clear, you're referring to the 15A 'ECM' fuse in the underhood fuse box, correct? Because there's also a separate 15A 'ECM 1' fuse in the same fuse box. We need to be clear on which fuse is the problem, as it matters to your diagnosis.
In either case, I think the easiest test to do first is to turn the key off, unplug the ECM, replace the blown fuse and turn the key back on. Does the fuse blow immediately? If yes, then the ECM is not the problem. If no, then the ECM or one of the circuits it powers is suspect.
thanks, I will try that. I need to take a picture of the fuse box cover. The fuses that I replaced is a 20 AMP, But I will check and make sure. Thanks for your input.
Sorry about not being more accurate on the information I provided previously. I got a wiring diagram and it is the ECM 1 fuse that is blowing. It blows the 15 amp ECM1 fuse, when cranking the car. The bottom plug on the ECM has the ECM1 circuit pink/ black wire. Unplugged the bottom plug ,replaced the fuse and cranked the car. The fuse did not blow. It looks as if it is a bad ECM. Customer wants to put a used ECM from the junk yard. I would think as long as the ECM numbers match it would not need to be programed. Thanks for any input.
