Toyota EVAP was created by Failed Test
2012 Toyota corolla trying to do a smoke test and I read this note.

" NOTE: in the EVAP system of this vehicle, turning ON the vent valve does not seal off the EVAP system. To check for leaks in the EVAP system disconnect the air inlet vent hose and apply pressure from atmosphere side of the canister."

Not sure what this means, can I unplug the canister vent hose from the canister and use the smoke machine from there and plug the purge line at the engine? The smoke machine creates pressure. Would that work?

Thanks.

Yes, you can smoke the system from the canister forward, the purge valve is normally closed so you shouldn't have to actuate it or anything.
